Towing the car is your cost, and I don't see a problem with you telling him after the fact, if you told him the very first time you talked with him after it was moved. You do not owe the customer the quick turnaround, but if you paid 2day deliver without getting his okay, then you eat that cost, but not the cost of the o-rings. Gaskets and fluids are customers cost. I wouldn't do any work or buy another single part for this car at this point. I'd do the math, tell the customer to pay up before doing any more work, and tell the police the story if they show up. I'd keep the car until paid for the work/parts put in so far. You have some leverage because his car is not done and you have it. Be professional and polite and try to get him to see it's to both your advantages for him to pay you and you to finish the car. ... You're going to lose anyway on this one, and it is a lesson. This is why contracts are necessary. They help to keep people from cheating each other, and they clarify what will happen "if" this or that.
